SUPPORTING THE NEXT GENERATION OF WOMXN

This International Women’s Day, we’re challenging the way things have always looked. Buck the system. See positive change. Envision a brighter future. Donated over £80,000  GBP to non-profits around the world, including Girls Out Loud in the UK.

We talked to founder, Jane Kenyon, for a short Q/A about guiding + empowering girls to succeed.

QUAY: FIRST OF ALL—WHO ARE YOU + WHAT ARE YOU ALL ABOUT?
JANE: I am Jane Kenyon, a serial entrepreneur, intuitive coach, inspirational speaker, author, and Founder of the UKs’ social enterprise Girls Out Loud. I am passionate about potential and equality, and this drives my aspirations and activities. For the past 25 years, I have worked exclusively with women and teenage girls, helping them to find their voice, recognize their potential, and step up and shine. Our Big Sister mentoring initiative harnesses female role models from all walks of life to be a mentor to a 12/13-year-old girl for a year. It is a joy to watch both the girls and their mentors blossom over their year together, learning and sharing each other’s potential and challenges.
Q: THIS YEAR’S INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY OFFICIAL THEME IS CHOOSE TO CHALLENGE. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR YOUR ORGANISATION?
J:
I love this theme; for me, it works on three levels. Choose to challenge yourself—to own your gifts, to demand equality and to be heard. On a company level—choose to challenge the inequality in the structure, culture, and leadership. And thirdly, on a societal level—choose to challenge the way women are portrayed, positioned, and treated in the world.
Q: WHAT DOES BEING AN ADVOCATE + WHAT DRIVES YOUR DECISION MAKING?
J:
It is my legacy, my passion, my purpose. I want every woman and girl to feel empowered, in control of her life and her destiny.  I want her to know her value, be true to herself, and know she is enough. I want her to progress and prosper, harnessing her feminine wisdom, accepting zero tolerance on violence, harassment, or sexism, and have a sense of sisterhood, so we all shine together. I want her to be a woman of gumption!
